Tips for RV Travelers
Purchases for the
RV:
1. Buy your 12 volt light bulbs in the automotive department of a
discount
store.
2. Don’t buy special RV toilet paper, the regular kind works just as
well.
3. Don’t patch sewer hoses, the new ones are cheap.
4. Buy an extra water hose for your RV.
5. Purchase gas from larger, busy stations, less chance of
contamination.
6. Essential: a brass water regulator, it will prevent damage from high
water pressure.
Necessities for
the RV:
1. An extra electrical cord with conversion plugs, needed at
different campgrounds.
2. Small water filter attachments that have replaceable filters.
3. A voltage meter. Most campgrounds have low voltage which can
result in damage to appliances in the RV.
4. An electric heater is a good thing to carry in the RV. You will
be more comfortable and save money.
5. A portable lantern is a good choice, especially if you plan to
spend evenings outside.
Extras for the RV:
1. A small grill is nice for cooking outdoors.
2. High quality lawn chairs offer comfort and extra seating.
3. Carry rags to wipe cords, hoses and other things in and outside
of your RV.
4. Having a caulking gun is a good idea for the RV windows,
compartments and doors.
5. A weather alert system is a wise choice and can be purchased at
electronic stores.
Remember:
1. Be careful when accumulating things, you have a small space in
your RV to work with.
2. Take maps and stop at Visitor Centers for local information.
3. Find out what county you are staying in. You may need this
information for weather and traffic alerts.
4. Shut off the RV propane appliances while traveling and the
outside propane valve.
5. Put the awning up on your RV if you are leaving for a long period
of time. This will prevent wind damage.
